31 Week Poll

No picture this week, since I came down with a fever on Monday and have just felt crummy ever since. I might try to get a late one tomorrow, but I'm not sure that I'll feel up to it. I didn't want to hold this update back any longer, so I'm just going to post without the picture. Last time nothing special was going on.

How far along? 31 Weeks 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: Holding steady at 30 pounds (as of Wednesday, didn't weigh myself today)
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch Marks? Geoff pointed out something that could be the begining of a stretch mark right above my belly button, wasn't that nice of him?
Sleep: All I want to do is sleep, but I cannot breathe very well between the stuffy nose and the massive cough. Being sick is no fun at all.
Best moment this week: Christmas morning with Geoff and Peter
Movement: Still lots, which makes me feel better with the fever. Although I do wish that Geoff would stop telling people to stare at my stomach to see an arm or a leg, it makes me a little self conscious.
Food cravings: My mom's meatballs, and a I had quite a few at Boxing Day (the main reason I was willing to brave the snow when I wasn't feeling well).
Gender: Poll will only be up until the end of the year which is only a few days away, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? It's popped
What I miss: Sleep
What I am looking forward to: Not feeling so awful
Milestones: First fever. Yay.

30 Week Picture and Poll

We missed the tree in the city this weekend, since all of us were feeling off (and it was cold out). Last time we were in the process of moving, and with Christmas prep this time around, I don't feel any less busy.

How far along? 30 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 30 pounds, I've gained the same amount of weight as I did with Peter and I still have ten weeks to go (then again, I started off about 20 pounds less)
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch Marks? Still nothing new, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed
Sleep: I haven't been sleeping well this week, I just seem to be too stuffy
Best moment this week: Slow week where I really wasn't feeling well, so I'm going to say hearing the baby at my appointment on Friday
Movement: Yes, and it isn't at all comfortable (but it is comforting)
Food cravings: Mexican, specifically Tequila Sunrise.
Gender: Poll will only be up until the end of the year, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Out, but not by a lot
What I miss: Sleep
What I am looking forward to: Christmas!

29 Week Picture and Poll

Long and cranky day, and we are starting to get overrun with boxes as Santa and other gifts arrive (and need to be wrapped). Hopefully, I'll actually get some under the tree soon. Last time, I had not gained nearly as much at this point, but I feel I still looked just about as big.

How far along? 29 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 29 pounds
Maternity clothes? Defintitely, and even some of my maternity pants are starting to get a little uncomfortable (especially after I eat)
Stretch Marks? Nothing new, and I'm trying to be better about using the anti-stretch mark system
Sleep: I'm definitely tired
Best moment this week: Watching Peter be absolutely adorable while watching Geoff's competition over the weekend
Movement: Lots of kicking, to the point where it disturbs Geoff while we are watching tv
Food cravings: Haven't been feeling all that great this week, and I really haven't wanted anything
Gender: Poll will only be up until the end of the year, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).

What I am looking forward to: Hopefully taking Peter to see some windows and the tree this weekend

28 Week Picture and Poll

Bonus picture week! It's a little scary to me how quickly these come along. Last time, we had just gotten to see Connor for the first time. This time around, Peter got to spend time with his two youngest friends when everyone came over for a fondue holiday party (which we haven't done since the last time I was pregnant).

How far along? 28 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 28.5 pounds, hopefully I'm starting to slow down
Maternity clothes? Oh yes
Stretch Marks? Nothing new
Sleep: Wish I was getting more
Best moment this week: Fondue party with great company
Movement: Lots, sometimes it is quite uncomfortable
Food cravings: Chocolate chip cookies, specifically from Stop and Shop. Not that we have any for me to eat...
Gender: Poll will be up until the end of the year, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Partially popped.
What I miss: There were a few nights again where a glass of wine would have been very nice
What I am looking forward to: The weekend, and maybe getting some real sleep
Milestone: Third trimester. This pregnancy seems to be going so much faster than last time.

Long day of Thanksgiving prep today, getting ready for the baking marathon in the morning, and then dinner with the family tomorrow night. Last time I had already completed the glucose test, which this time I have to do on Monday (awesome for right after a holiday weekend).

How far along? 26 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 26 pounds
Maternity clothes? Oh yes
Stretch Marks? Nothing new
Sleep: Tired and having a hard time getting comfortable
Best moment this week: To beat the crowds, we went early to visit Santa, and Peter was beyond adorable. I figured that this year he was still young enough, but next year we will be respecting the turkey.

Finally some pictures

At the end of October, we had our anatomy scan where the baby was not at all cooperative and we got no pictures to share. The baby refused to change positions and they were unable to see the heart. So just about a week later, I went back for a follow up scan. The baby was in a much better mood, even if the rest of us weren't since we'd been without power and hot water for four days at that point. (Thanks Sandy!) Everything looked great, and the baby is measuring right on schedule. We were able to get a couple of pictures to share, and I was thrilled to get an extra chance to see the baby (who we probably won't get to see again until about 35 weeks, if we even get that). It took me a while to get the pictures scanned, but here they are.

25 Week Picture and Poll

It's been a long and busy day gearing up for the holiday season (Thanksgiving is next week!), and we also picked Geoff up from the airport, which made our night a little later than usual, but here we are. Last time we had just finished celebrating Christmas and were getting ready for New Years.

How far along? 25 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 25 pounds, but I forgot that it was Wednesday until after I had a large breakfast, so the number isn't entirely accurate
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch Marks? Still nothing new, but I have to be more proactive about using my stretch mark oil and cream because my skin is starting to feel very dry in this weather
Sleep: Still pretty tired, but I slept pretty well this week.
Best moment this week: Peter sitting with me and getting so excited every time the baby moved
Movement: Lots, it seems we have another soccer player here.
Food cravings: Eh, haven't really been in the mood for anything in particular (although I am hungry).
Gender: Poll is up, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still flat, but it pops after I eat.
What I miss: Geoff.
What I am looking forward to: The weekend, just because.
Milestones: Started a baby registry at diapers.com, mostly for the completion coupon, but if people actually buy gifts we'll get very useful credits we can use after the baby is born. Still have some things we need to add as we figure out what is in good shape and what isn't, but it's a pretty solid start (and probably just about done).

Happy Thirty-One Months!

We've done so much in the past month I'm not even sure where to start. We went on two family vacations, one to Mystic and one to the Bahamas. Uncle Jay came for a visit from England. We finally got to the Boo at the Zoo, and a good thing because Hurricane Sandy washed out Halloween. In addition to the hurricane that knocked out our power for four days, last night we had our first snow of the season, and I discovered that while Peter does like looking at the snow, he does not like to touch it (or walk on it).

From BabyCenter.com

At thirty-one and thirty-two months, most children can:
Recite own name - He definitely does this "It's me, Peter!"
Draw a circle - Yup

At thirty-one and thirty-two months, half the children can:
Put on a t-shirt - Depending on how tight the neck is, he can do this
Balance on each foot for a second - Check
Recognizes ABCs - Has been doing this for a long time now
Brushes teeth by himself - He is able to do this, he just doesn't always want to

At thirty-one and thirty-two months, a few children can:
Use two adjectives - He has quite a few that he uses (thank you "That's not my..." series)
Draws a cross - I've never seen him do this
Points to objects described by use - He doesn't do this consistently

24 Week Picture and Poll

This is being posted a day late even though it was just about ready to go last night except we had the computer off in case we lost power (and was unable to download the pictures). But it's bonus picture week! Although it was a long and snowy day, so the pictures aren't that great. Last time I was late with the picture, but there was a bonus (Christmas) picture then as well.

How far along? 24 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 24 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch Marks? Still nothing new, and fingers are crossed that doesn't change
Sleep: Still pretty tired, doesn't seem like that is going to change.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby
Movement: Yes, and Peter even got to feel it today.
Food cravings: Hot chocolate, but that might have to do with the cold weather.
Gender: Poll is up, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? It pops after I eat.
What I miss: Nothing I really missed this week.
What I am looking forward to: 60 degree weather at the end of the weekend
Milestones: V-day

From theBump.com

your baby's the size of a cantaloupe!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up.

23 Week Poll

Sandy Update: Everything is ok for us, we definitely did not get the brunt of the storm. Unfortunately though, we have lost power and have yet to get it back. It could be another week before it is restored. So there is no picture this week since we didn't have enough light to take it (also we have no power to use the computer to download it even if we could take it). Also this update is a few days late (23 weeks 2 days), but I am posting what I would have posted on Wednesday.

Last time I was late as well, and I'm not sure what was going on with my hair in the picture. Hopefully, I'll have a picture next week (fingers crossed).

How far along? 23 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 22 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch Marks? Nothing new and I'm hoping it stays that way
Sleep: Sleep has been much easier for all of us with no electricity.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby, even if the baby was completely uncooperative and refused to turn around. So back I'll have to go on Friday to get pictures of the heart as well as profile shots (which I will share as soon as I am able to scan).
Movement: Yes, lots.
Food cravings: Nothing really, which is good because options are limited when there is no power.
Gender: Poll is up, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still basically flat.
What I miss: Power. And hot water.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing the baby Friday (since they couldn't get all the pictures that they wanted last week)!
Milestones: Baby's first hurricane and power outage.

From theBump.com

22 Week Picture and Poll

Trying to get back to our regular schedule, and I think that Peter is almost caught up from the vacations, although I very nearly forgot to take the picture tonight (which is why it's so late). Last time we had already found out that Peter was going to be a boy, but I still don't want to know this time around. Geoff completely disagrees with me, but he can not come up with anything that he would do differently if he knew ahead of time.

How far along? 22 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 21 pound, so I seem to be in the about 1 pound a week phase
Maternity clothes? Yes, and as the weather changes, I'll probably need some more long sleeve shirts.
Stretch Marks? Nothing new
Sleep: Seems like we are finally catching up on sleep from the vacations.
Best moment this week: It was nice having some alone time with Geoff while we were away, before the babysitter called us back.
Movement: Yes, although Geoff hasn't felt it since that first time.
Food cravings: Sweets, and root beer seems to be just perfect at the moment
Gender: Poll is finally up, don't forget to vote on the right (if you are reading this by email or reader, you need to click through to the blog). Tomorrow is the big ultrasound, I am still planning on being strong although Geoff is hoping that I'll change my mind last minute.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Basically flat, but sometimes starts to pop after I eat.
What I miss: Eggs Benedict.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing the baby tomorrow!
Milestones: Baby's first trip abroad (can you tell I'm stretching here?).

21 Week Poll

No picture this week, with everything going on it's just too much. I definitely feel like I look so much bigger than last time. I didn't get any great belly pictures while away in Mystic (although I'm still going through all the pictures, since I took so many). I might try to get one later in the week, but I'm not holding out much hope.

How far along? 21 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure, didn't have access to a scale this morning so I'm just skipping this week
Maternity clothes? Oh yes
Stretch Marks? Nothing new
Sleep: Pretty exhausted, but our schedules have been all screwed up with vacation
Best moment this week: Not sure I can just pick just one, vacation was pretty amazing, and it's been great spending time with Jay (as well as movement below)
Movement: Yes! On Thursday night, while we were watching TV, Geoff even got to feel the baby kick.
Food cravings: Root beer
Gender: Poll is finally up, don't forget to vote on the right
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Basically flat.
What I miss: My ankles
What I am looking forward to: Sun and sand
Milestones: Return of the cankles. I'm hoping that it is just because I haven't been eating all that well on vacation. I guess we'll see how the next few days go.

Pick a Team!

Well, I've finally gotten the poll up, even though I really meant to do it a few weeks ago. So now it's time to cast your vote.

According to this Chinese Gender Predictor, it's a girl.
According to this Chinese Gender Chart, it's a boy.
The heart rate has consistently been measured in the 140s.

So cast your vote on the right! If you are really confident, leave a comment below.

Happy Thirty Months!

Oops, I just realized that I completely forgot to post this update, I was so wrapped up in the excitement of the week. He is doing the potty training on and off, although I'm not going to push it until after we are finished with vacations. He also seems very interested in moving to a big boy bed, but again I am in no rush.

From BabyCenter.com

At twenty-nine and thirty months, most children can:
Brush teeth with help - He does this and doesn't really have any more issues with the toothpaste
Washes and dries own hands - Check, even if he does make me sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" each and every time.
Draws a vertical line - Still isn't really pretty

At twenty-nine and thirty months, half the children can:
Draw a circle - Again, he does this but it isn't pretty
Balance on one foot - Check

At twenty-nine and thirty months, a few children can:
Put on a t-shirt - Still has a hard time pulling his own head through, but he is definitely almost there
Names one color - More than one
Names one friend - He keeps adding friends to the list

There are a few pictures in our October album on Picasa, and I will try to add more as the month goes on (although most pictures so far do seem to be in other albums).

20 Week Picture and Poll

Half way through! Bonus picture week! It was a long day today with Peter and I joining Jay, David and my dad for some site-seeing in the city, so I'm very ready for bed at this point. Seems like I was pretty tired last time as well, since my picture didn't come until the next day.

How far along? 20 Weeks

Maternity clothes? Yes, but this weather is not making things easy for me, since it seems I have nothing appropriate.

Sleep: I'm pretty tired, but this has been a bad week for naps.

18 Week Picture and Poll

It was a big week for Peter, and today was a long day of being inside with Peter because of the weather. I am so ready to go to bed at this point. Last time I had just started to feel movement, so I wasn't too much earlier this time around.

How far along? 18 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 16 pounds, so back on "track", although it seems like I might gain more than last time...
Maternity clothes? Yes, and I got a sale so I'm just waiting for them to arrive
Stretch Marks? Still nothing new
Sleep: I'm trying to sleep, but I'm still unfortunately having a hard time getting comfortable. I'm not a fan of sleeping in one position all night long.
Best moment this week: Peter's a big boy, and had his first day of "school".
Movement: A little more often, but still not very often.
Food cravings: Burgers, ever since I could swallow without pain. Guess I was hungry.
Gender: Still don't know and I still haven't even had any dreams about it yet.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Sill in but definitely flattening out.
What I miss: My fall jacket fitting, I can still get it on, but it's on the tight side.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing baby Brady

Big First Day

Hard to believe that this day is already here, today was Peter's first day of "school". It is a mom cooperative, and I was one of the teachers today, but Peter did very well. He had a lot of fun playing, and he already knew one of the other children. The real test will be next week when I don't stay. He looked like a little boy all dressed up this morning, he really doesn't look like a baby anymore.

Last Faire, First Cone

Over the weekend we headed back to the Renaissance Faire and Peter played a few games. He slayed a dragon.

He fished for duckies.

And he had his first ever ice cream cone. At first, he didn't seem to know what to do with it.

It didn't take him too long to figure out.

And here is a little video of Peter slaying that dragon...
