Zoo Again

One more Peter post for today, as yesterday we headed into the city to check out the Central Park Zoo. Of course, Peter was thrilled that we arrived by bus.

At the Children's Zoo, Peter pretended to be a bunny.

And a turtle.

At the main zoo, he searched for swimming polar bears with no luck.

Apparently, it was too hot for them to swim, as Peter kept looking.

He was able to find the turtles, which made him very happy.

But not quite as happy as finding Cookie Monster and Elmo as we were leaving the zoo.

And finally, a video of Peter feeding the sheep. Another long, but cute, one.

Peter's Renaissance Adventure

I know that recently this blog has mostly been about the new baby, but I haven't forgotten that it is still about Peter as well. Over the weekend, we headed up to the Renaissance Faire again, and Peter had an absolute blast.

He fished for duckies.

Showed off his strength with a hammer (like Daddy).

It was pirate weekend, and Peter showed his pirate pride.

His favorite game to play was load the cannon, he loved throwing the ball.

The biggest surprise of all was when Peter wanted to take a boat ride, since normally he wants nothing to do with the water. He was great on the boat, and enjoyed waving to Daddy (who was taking pictures).

And finally, I leave you with a video of Peter playing Load the Cannon. It's a little on the long side, but I just couldn't cut out any of the cuteness.

14 Week Picture and Poll

Another super long day, most of it spent in the city at the Central Park Zoo. I am beyond ready for bed at this point, but I didn't have a great picture last time either.

How far along? 14 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still eleven pounds.
Maternity clothes? Maternity pants arrived today! Although not in time to go to the zoo. I am so glad to have pants that fit again.
Stretch Marks? Nope
Sleep: I've been so exhausted, but it's been a busy week.
Best moment this week: A tie between the extreme joy Peter had at playing the games at the Renaissance Faire over the weekend, and the extreme joy he felt taking the bus to the zoo this morning.
Movement: Maybe! But I only seem to feel it in the middle of the night, so I might just be dreaming.
Food cravings: My frozen orange at the Renaissance Faire, hopefully I'll get another one in a couple more weeks.
Gender: No clue at this point.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Sill in but flattening out
What I miss: Having a beer at the Renaissance Faire.
What I am looking forward to: Bed.
Milestones: Second trimester! Yay!

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another.

13 Week Picture and Poll

Long day, but here we go. Picture was taken after (finally) watching The Hunger Games after we put Peter to bed, so I'm a bit tired. I remember last time thinking that I looked so pregnant, but I guess I wasn't nearly as big as I thought I was.

How far along? 13 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up eleven pounds, but I'm hoping that has more to do with the amount of water I drank last night than weight I've actually put on.
Maternity clothes? I bought a few tshirts in Target (and a few dresses for vacation), and I ordered jeans and shorts last night. I really can't button most of my pants anymore and am fully using the bellaband, I hope that the new shorts come quickly.
Stretch Marks? Nope
Sleep: I'm finding it hard to get comfortable, I think that it soon may be time to bring back out the body pillow.
Best moment this week: Finding out that one of my friends is due the day after me.
Movement: Still don't feel anything, but hopefully soon.
Food cravings: If anything, pizza, but I haven't really gotten it. I really haven't felt like eating anything recently.
Gender: Still not sure, but the poll should be up soon.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Sill in for now
What I miss: Soft cheese.
What I am looking forward to: The weekend
Weekly Wisdom: Get maternity pants BEFORE you need them.
Milestones: First baby gift, a very cute outfit from Aunt Joanne.

From theBump.com

your baby's the size of a peach!
She's about 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces, and -- proportion-wise -- her head's now about 1/3 the size of her body (remember? It used to be bigger!).

How your baby's growing:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now.

12 Week Picture and Poll

Bonus picture week. Last time, I took the picture a day late, but I did post. I feel like I look so huge (for how far along I am), I wonder what I will look like in a few weeks.

How far along? 12 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up eight pounds, creeping up again.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new, and I'm trying to not need to get maternity shorts, although maybe they would be useful for my upcoming vacations.
Stretch Marks? Nope
Sleep: I'm still going to bed pretty early each night, and thankfully Peter isn't getting up too early. I just wish that he would nap for longer.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby again, and we probably won't get another chance for two months.
Movement: Still not feeling it, but we definitely saw it on Monday.
Food cravings: Popcorn, but then again who doesn't want popcorn when they walk past a movie theatre.
Gender: Don't know, and I'm thinking of setting up a new poll (like I did for Peter).
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In, but I just realized how flat it is getting
What I miss: My clothes fitting.
What I am looking forward to: Celebrating my friend's baby shower this weekend.
Weekly Wisdom: Thinking I'm just going to drop this starting next week (unless I have something to share)
Milestones: Great numbers on the first trimester screening.

From theBump.com

your baby's the size of a plum!
The average fetus at 12 weeks is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces. Now that she's got pretty much all her parts, her main job is to keep on growing.

How your baby's growing:

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it.

Peter Has a Secret

And it's finally time that he can tell! As of today, I am 11 weeks 5 days pregnant and thing are going great. And while I have been tracking this pregnancy like I did the last one, I obviously waited to publish until now. So if you would like to go back to the beginning and follow along, the posts are listed below (and they do include sonogram photos). If you would like to receive email updates going forward you can either sign up here or at the link on the right. You will receive one email for each day that I post, and since I don't post most days, it will probably end up being one to three emails a week (more often one than three).

And Some More Baby Pictures

This morning we had our first trimester screening, so we got another peak at the baby. The baby was not nearly as cooperative as Peter was at that point, but that just meant lots more opportunities for pictures. Everything is looking great, and here is a sneak peak. We probably won't get another for about two months.

Happy Twenty-Eight Months!

A few days late in posting. Nothing at all has changed from last month, everything from BabyCenter.com is basically the same. Next month there are some new goals so hopefully it will be a more interesting update.

Again, all my pictures so far this month are in other albums, but I will update once I have an August album on Picasa.

UPDATE: Completely forgot, but here is the August album on Picasa.

Playland

I am super behind in posting, hoping to catch up this weekend, but here is a sample of our trip to Playland a few weeks ago. It was Peter's first trip and he had a blast.

11 Week Picture and Poll

Picture on time again, I'm on a roll here. Although no picture to compare to from last time. I feel like these pictures are making me look much more pregnant than I actually do, and maybe it's because I've been taking them at night. In the morning I don't look quite as big.

How far along? 11 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still up seven pounds, so holding steady this week.
Maternity clothes? Still just the sleeping tanks, but it will not be too long before I have to switch over to maternity pants.
Stretch Marks? Nope
Sleep: Yes please.
Best moment this week: Not at all baby related, but it was nice to get away for a few days.
Movement: Nothing that I can feel at this point, although sometimes I swear the baby is jumping on my bladder.
Food cravings: Asian food, we've had Japanese, Chinese and Japanese (again) already this week.
Gender: Still no idea.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Sushi.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing the baby again on Monday.
Weekly Wisdom: Still nothing to share
Milestones: Nada that I can think of.

10 Week Picture and Poll

Picture on time! A picture to compare to last time. And pictures of the baby! Such a productive day.

How far along? 10 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up seven pounds, but my doctor isn't at all worried, so I won't be either.
Maternity clothes? The sleeping tanks, but I've also fully embraced the Bella Band.
Stretch Marks? Nope
Sleep: Yes, and I'm having a hard time getting comfortable. Luckily for me my doctor told Geoff that we need to get a/c in the bedroom.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby!
Movement: Not the I can feel, but the baby did wave at us today.
Food cravings: I've been having a lot of soup and salad recently.
Gender: I don't know, but Geoff thinks it will be a girl since I've been feeling so much sicker.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: My clothes fitting.

How your baby's growing:

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

There Is A Wave!

Today Geoff and I went for our first doctor's appointment (since the blood test confirmation), and we got to see the baby for the first time. It was great, the baby was waving when the tech started. The appointment was over pretty quickly, but everything is going very well and we got two pictures to share.
