A Look at the Chubby Cheeks

Today I had my growth scan to check on the size of the baby. Currently Baby B is measuring at 6 pounds 2 ounces, and the tech estimated that he or she will be about the same size as Peter when the time comes. That was definitely not that comforting to me as I had a long labor with Peter and ended up with a c-section anyway. Although I have heard from a couple of mom friends who had c-sections for their first and vbacs for their second that the second time was a lot easier.

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the face, and I definitely see a resemblance to Big Brother Peter. The first two pictures are the easiest to see, although you still need to tilt your head to the right to see it. The top of the head is all the way to the right, and you can see the two eyes, nose and mouth (not to mention chubby cheeks). In the second picture, the hands are up, but you can see a little bit of a smile.

Finally some pictures

At the end of October, we had our anatomy scan where the baby was not at all cooperative and we got no pictures to share. The baby refused to change positions and they were unable to see the heart. So just about a week later, I went back for a follow up scan. The baby was in a much better mood, even if the rest of us weren't since we'd been without power and hot water for four days at that point. (Thanks Sandy!) Everything looked great, and the baby is measuring right on schedule. We were able to get a couple of pictures to share, and I was thrilled to get an extra chance to see the baby (who we probably won't get to see again until about 35 weeks, if we even get that). It took me a while to get the pictures scanned, but here they are.

And Some More Baby Pictures

This morning we had our first trimester screening, so we got another peak at the baby. The baby was not nearly as cooperative as Peter was at that point, but that just meant lots more opportunities for pictures. Everything is looking great, and here is a sneak peak. We probably won't get another for about two months.

There Is A Wave!

Today Geoff and I went for our first doctor's appointment (since the blood test confirmation), and we got to see the baby for the first time. It was great, the baby was waving when the tech started. The appointment was over pretty quickly, but everything is going very well and we got two pictures to share.

A Look at the Baby

Geoff and I had an ultrasound on Friday to measure the growth of the baby (but really just so that we could see her/him again). It was amazing how much of a change there was since the last ultrasound (which was in December). This time we were able to see a clearly defined face, as well as hair (Baby Braham has hair!). I was not so thrilled when the technician said "Oh, this is a big baby", and even less thrilled when the doctor confirmed her estimate during my exam. Since I am still three weeks away (when did that happen?), we are going to check on the growth again then. Other than that, everything looks good and it now just a matter of time.

I will leave you with the one picture that I have, one of Baby Braham's face. It's hard to see, but if you tilt your head to the right it makes it easier.

Friday's Doctor's Appointment (no reference to the gender)

So Geoff and I had our anatomy scan on Friday. While we did find out the gender, we are going to keep this blog gender neutral until the baby is born. The only place where it will say the gender is the post below, so if you don't want to know, just don't read that post.

So other than the boy/girl question, we got to spend a while watching the baby on Friday which was great. Apparently, the baby did everything that the technician needed, which she said never happens. I pointed out that it would probably be the last time that the baby was well behaved. S/he did get tired of having her/his picture taken towards the end, and was holding her/his hand in front of her/his face.

The technician did say that the baby is measuring a little big, and is a little over a pound right now. She also said that being big a this point doesn't mean anything for when the baby was born. I, in the mean time, am praying that the baby takes after Daddy size-wise, and not me.

Finally, here are some shots from the sonogram, a few profile shots and a picture of the foot.

New Baby Picture

Here we are at 13 weeks 6 days. I don't think that we'll have another one until the big scan at 20 weeks.

10 Week Baby

I finally got around to scanning the sonogram. I measured at 9 weeks 6 days. Enjoy!
