At One Month
Today Charles had his one month checkup and everything is great. He is now 10 pounds 12 ounces and 23.5 inches tall. That puts him in the 90th and 95th percentiles respectively. He is also hitting a lot of other milestones, such as starting to push up when he is on his stomach, tracking with his eyes and opening his fists. He is very able to hold up his head, and he loves to look at what's around him. It is amazing how fast he is growing.

Visiting Great-Nanny
On Saturday we headed up to visit Great-Nanny. Since she had been unable to drive, it was the first time that Charles got to meet her. Charles slept for most of the time we were up there, but he did get cozy on Great-Nanny while he was sleeping.
Peter was also so excited to be there, he rarely sat still. He loved playing the piano, and the puzzles that he got from Great-Nanny and Joanne. In addition to running in circles like a race car, he played with Great-Nanny and the mini-balls she gave him.

Happy One Month!
This month has absolutely flown by, so much so that I only realized yesterday that I was a year older than the day before Charles was born. I can't believe how quickly he is growing, the newborn outfits are pretty tight and the three month outfits, while still a little big, aren't so big it's scary. We'll find out next week exactly how much he has grown.
Charles is still eating like a champ, which is great. So far there are no signs of a dairy allergy, but they didn't really show up for Peter until he was about six weeks, so we are still watching. And we just got all the supplies to give him a bottle, so hopefully there will be some cute Peter feeding Charles pictures soon. Peter is beyond excited to do this, and has been asking all week to give him a bottle.
Sleep has also been pretty consistent and predictable, although not great for me. He does sleep at night, but is getting up every two hours or so to eat. He is also sleeping well through Peter playing during the day, which is a very good thing.
Speaking of Peter, he absolutely loves to help out. He will play with Peter when he's awake. He tries to teach him how the toys on his bouncer work, and will try to keep him entertained during tummy time. Charles is getting very strong, and it great at holding up his head. He will push up off of people, and even pushes up a little in tummy time.
We haven't been getting out quite as often as I would like, despite it being officially spring it is still so cold out. In addition to bringing Peter to and from school, we have been going to see Geoff compete in the CrossFit Open. We have made a few trips out during the day, most recently today when we went to lunch with Uncle David and Gritz. I'm really looking forward to it getting a little warmer and it is easier to get outside.

One more week down
Everything is going well with Charles as he hit two weeks old on Friday. He had his first and second trips out (not counting the doctor), and he slept through them both. His first trip was last weekend, where we went to lunch at Harry's Burritos with the Woods, which was also big brother Peter's first trip out. Friday night, we went to cheer on Daddy as he competed in the CrossFit open. As the weather starts to get nicer again, we'll start having more outdoor trips, which I am sure will thrill Peter as well.
Other than those trips, things are pretty normal for us. There was one incident where Charles rolled over while we were taking photographs, but I'm going to assume that was the way I had him propped as I am not ready for a mobile baby.
Sleep is still hit or miss, although we seem to be doing pretty well at night. He loves to sleep on people, and I've often found myself stuck as Charles has fallen asleep on me. We finally got out the Moby (still trying to find the Ergo infant insert since we aren't sure where we packed it away), so that has helped a bit. He is also sleeping in Geoff's old craddle, although he doesn't seem to be the biggest fan and has to be out cold before he will sleep in there. I don't remember having the same issue with Peter, but I could be wrong. Strange enough, when Peter was this age we commented on how the cradle was getting too tight, but I don't see that with Charles, and he is bigger than Peter was.
Charles is super strong, and has great head control just like Peter did. He loves to sit up and look around, especially if Peter is near by. He will push himself off of people's chests and look around, often for Peter.
I have finally started a March album in Picasa, although I do have more photos to add. I still have to get pictures from my phone into the album, so keep checking back. Happy Thirty-Five Months!
Things have been going well at home, and Peter is enamored with his baby brother, constantly trying to take care of him. Although there are definitely signs that he is acting out a little bit, and there are some things that he used to do that he is now "too little" for. I'm hoping that this doesn't last too long. He still isn't potty trained, and now he seems even less interested. Again, I'm hoping that changes in the near future.

Two Weeks Later
I started having contractions about 4:30 in the morning on February 22, and things progressed quickly from there. When we spoke with the doctor, they said that we had plenty of time, but to come in anyway since they wanted to monitor me. We woke up Peter, got him dressed and ready and headed out. By the time we had dropped him off and got to the hospital, I was already nine centimeters and almost ready to push. Charles was born about half an hour later.
Geoff said it was like a scene out of the movies, with me being wheeled up to labor and delivery (by security). Overall, it was a very different experience than last time.
Recovery this time was also a lot easier, with sitting being the biggest obstacle, mostly due to the bruised tailbone (which is still sore). I am down about 21 pounds from when I was 39 weeks, and I am feeling much better. Finally, here is the belly picture comparison of my 39 week picture (the last one that I took) and today. I find it pretty shocking how much I've changed in just over two weeks, and I think that this picture really doesn't do justice to how much my stomach has gone down. I will be back tomorrow with updates of both Peter and Charles, once I finish going through the pictures.

Growing so Fast
Well, maybe not too fast, but definitely quickly. We had our one week weight check today, and Charles now weighs 9 pounds 8 ounces. They look for weight gain of 1/2 to 1 ounce a day, and Charles is slightly over that with 8 ounces in 7 days, so things are obviously going well.

Happy One Week!
Charles is now a week old, and I can't believe how fast this week has gone by. Things are going well and we are trying to get into a new rhythm. Charles is eating like a champ, and has been from day one. Night time sleep has been hit or miss, some nights he will happily sleep in the cradle, some he only wants to be held.
Big brother Peter has been great with him, even if he does seem to still be a little mad with Geoff and me. He will quietly sing him to sleep, and runs to investigate if Charles cries. He will also correct us if we refer to Charles as anything other than "Baby Brother" or Charles.
There is an album on Picasa with pictures from the hospital and our first few days home. I will also be starting an album for March shortly, but I've been a little slow in uploading pictures.
